Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Gianni Masciarelli one day suprised his wife by presenting her with this wine, from the grape he made famous from the region, named after her. Croatian in origin, her first reaction was that no one would be able to pronounce the wine. Because of the outstanding sites used to produce the wine and the serious winemaking care it undergoes, Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo soon became the most widespread example of serious Montepluciano in the world.

Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo. Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.

Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo ISKRA
ISKRA is a true outlier, representing a single vineyard handled in a particular way to create a wine of extraordinary distinction and depth.

Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Started in Gianni Masciarelli's grandfather's basement, Villa Gemma is the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, showcasing what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is the only Italian wine with 14 consecutive Tre Bicchieri awards and, more importantly, was the wine that established Abruzzo as capable of making truly distinct, extraordinary wines. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is a powerfully - almost undeniably - intense wine of character and complexity, with deep fruit and earthy, spicy secondary charachteristics that could only come from the Montepulciano grape in Abruzzo.

Villa Gemma Abruzzo Bianco
Abruzzo Bianco
While the Villa Gemma Montepulciano was the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, the Bianco, created just a year later, further defined what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. This wine, first released in 1985, speaks to the white grape varieties specific to the region and has become on of the most exciting wines produced at the estate.

Villa Gemma Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo
Abruzzo Cerasuolo
Perhaps the finest rosé production area in Italy, and one of the few appellations dedicated only to rosé, Cerasuolo has a long history of producing serious rosé, and showcasing how well the Montepulciano grape is adapted to rosé. Masciarelli first produced this wine in 1986, only 5 years after the winery was founded. With deep fruit and structure but no shortage of pleasure, it is a rosé you can take to the dinner table.

Paternoster
Don Anselmo Aglianico del Vulture
Aglianico del Vulture DOC
Don Anselmo is a landmark wine made from 100% Aglianico grapes, the native varietal in Basilicata for which the region is renowned. It is dedicated to the winery's founder, Anselmo Paternoster, and represents the history, roots, and continued importance of the Paternoster family in the area of production of the wines, Vulture. The grapes come from small and particularly old vineyard parcels in Barile, located at 2000 feet above sea level, with naturally low yields (35- 40 quintals per hectare). The soil is volcanic, with a significant levels of lava and ash.

Paternoster
Synthesi Aglianico del Vulture
Aglianico del Vulture DOC
In 1997 Paternoster added the name “Synthesi” to what previously had been labeled simply as Aglianico del Vulture; the word synthesi refers to “synthesis” in English, as the wine is made from grapes grown in different sections of the Vulture. Synthesi is an Aglianico intended for drinking young, and is an excellently priced example of what the grape is all about.

Vulcanico Falanghina
Basilicata IGT
Volcanic wines are currently one of the hot topics in the wine world, and the Vulcanico Falanghina is having its moment in the sun. The name “Vulcanico” highlights the fact that the grapes are harvested from vineyards near the base of Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano. The Vulcanico combines the freshness, balminess and delicacy of the Falanghina grape with the brightness and generosity that one would expect from a white wine from southern Italy. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days and remain in contact with the lees for approximately 5 months.

Masseria Surani
Fiano
Puglia IGT
In keeping with a tribute to the local land, the winemaking process is noninvasive and allows the characteristics of the local terroir to shine through. The resulting wine is aromatic, marked by notes of white flowers, tangerine, and lime. The premium fruit required for making this wine is obtained as a result of strict clonal selection, modern vine training systems, and severe pruning, in order to produce a small amount of high quality wines with respect for terroir and tradition.

Masseria Surani
Primitivo Cabernet
Puglia IGT
The wine is notably restrained, especially in terms of alcohol, which the Tommasi family, owners of the estate, believes is key to making balanced wines in Puglia. The premium fruit required for making this wine is obtained as a result of strict clonal selection, modern vine training systems, and severe pruning, in order to produce a small amount of high quality wines with respect for terroir and tradition.

Marqués de Riscal
Baron di Chirel Rioja
Rioja
Born in 1986 from the Marqués de Riscal’s close relationship to some of the top winemakers in Bordeaux, the Barón de Chirel in many ways kicked off a new era of Rioja. Chosen from very old (80-110 years), low-yielding parcels of high-altitude Tempranillo and Cabernet vines around Elciego, these grapes undergo a meticulous process of selection before a special vinification process. The care that goes into this wine has cemented its prestige among discerning customers.

Marqués de Riscal
Verdejo Organic Rueda
Rueda
Marqués de Riscal was the pioneer in developing the Rueda region, as they saw an area with the soils, climate, and grape (Verdejo) to produce fresh, balanced white wines. This 100% organic wine comes from Riscal's estate vineyards, is crafted with minimal intervention, and is an attractive and delightful wine that exhibits the classic aromatic intensity and bright acidity of the variety.

Marqués de Riscal
Rioja Rosado
Rioja
Marqués de Riscal has produced outstanding rosé for over 60 years. Made from Tempranillo and Viura, this is the product of the young vines of the estate and has an uncommon combination of delicacy, freshness and refinement. Marqués de Riscal
150 Aniversario Rioja
Rioja
Originally made for the bodega’s 150th anniversary, this wine is only made in exceptional vintages. The 1883 cellar where this wine is made has been refurbished in the intervening century and a half, marrying tradition and modernity in its large wooden vats and state-of-the-art sorting table. Vigorous, vibrant and more powerful than the rest of the classic Riojas, it is plush and round yet easy to drink.

Marqués de Riscal
Frank Gehry Selection
Rioja
Frank Gehry designed the Hotel Marqués de Riscal in his signature style, putting an indelible mark on the winery. This wine, a selection of estate vineyards at least 80 years old, is for slow drinking, to enjoy with friends over the course of a few days. It harkens back to the Riscal style of the beginning of the 20th century, and its tannic backbone and marked acidity mean it will age into the 21st century beautifully.
